Kevin Hedge, Director, Allied Health and Community Programs
Kevin qualified in Psychology in 1981 and started his career working in community corrections in Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. He worked as a psychologist in addiction medicine in Sutherland in 1987 subsequently worked as Principal Policy Officer within the Drug and Alcohol Directorate of the Department of Health from 1990 to 1995.
Kevin moved to Wentworth Area Health Service and Nepean Hospital as the Director, Drug and Alcohol Services in 1995, a position he held until 2007. Kevin worked as the Network Director, Surgery in 2007 and subsequently became the General Manager, Nepean Hospital from 2008 to 2016.
Kevin’s vision for the Allied Health Directorate is to promote the delivery of high quality allied health services, supporting patient care through further education and training, clinical supervision and the further development of professional standards. His vision for Community Programs is to provide the best care in Oral Health, Primary Care and Community Health and Drug and Alcohol Services, and to work to improve the health of the local population through sustained and effective population health strategies.
Kevin has a strong commitment to equity of access to health care, to improving Aboriginal Health, to improving the care of people with a disability and to developing strategies to improve integrated care for our residents.
