Partners in Delivery of Health Services
Nepean Blue Mountains PHN
Our partnership with the Nepean Blue Mountains PHN is key to ensuring we deliver on our organisational goals. We are fortunate to share the same boundaries as the PHN allowing us to work productively together across the entire district. We have agreed on some shared priorities with the PHN, which include aged care, mental health (including Headspace), improving access to after-hours general practice care, child and family health initiatives, population health and planning, eHealth, and improving the information flow between our two organisations to facilitate improved services to our population.
A health consumer is any person who directly or indirectly uses a health service. The health consumer is the primary focus of any model of health care quality management.
Health consumers have a fundamental right to participate in health care delivery and are encouraged and enabled to be involved in the planning, policy development, service delivery and ongoing evaluation of health services.
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District recognises the importance of consumer participation as the basis for enabling dialogue about improving services, identifying priorities and giving health care providers insights into how people perceive aspects of their care.
Within Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, opportunities are provided for consumers to participate collaboratively with service providers in health service planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation at all levels.
