Occupational Therapy

It’s hard to imagine, one day you are living life to the fullest and then suddenly you are struck with illness such as a stroke – you can no longer feed or complete the simplest functions for yourself.

Our Occupational Therapy (OT) team know the after effects and challenges of illnesses such as stroke, brain injuries or neurological conditions all too well and are committed to helping patients regain independence in their lives to get back into the community again.

Our OT team currently see 50-70 patients a month. “We work with patients during the recovery in hospital right through to returning to independent living at home. From movement therapy and teaching eating skills, to memory and concentration training, right through to prescribing safety equipment – our team are committed to seeing patients go from being completely dependent upon others for help to regaining confidence and returning home to independent living,” Occupational Therapist, Tara Gray says.
