Kath is an experienced healthcare and social services professional with over 30 years experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sector. She is a registered nurse and has lived in the Blue Mountains for over twenty years. Kath worked across the Nepean and Blue Mountains region between 2002 and 2009 in a range of positions including as a Clinical Nurse Consultant and also in Clinical Governance. She was also involved in several national and state-wide collaborative programs. Most recently Kath has been working in the not-for-profit sector managing strategic projects, and clinical and support services across NSW. She has a broad range of experience in operations, clinical and corporate governance and project management, with strengths in relationship management, service development, establishing and leading resilient agile teams and strategic partnerships.
Kath embraces new challenges and learning opportunities and is committed to life-long personal and professional development. In addition to a diploma of applied science and a degree in nursing, she also has two Masters degrees. In 2013 she was awarded a full scholarship by the University of NSW Australian Graduate School of Management to complete the prestigious General Manager executive education program. In 2016 Kath completed the Company Directors course and became a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Kath has a strong strategic mindset, and her particular interests are in understanding complex adaptive systems, organisational culture, palliative care and all matters related to end-of-life care.
Kath’s professional affiliations include Palliative Care NSW, Palliative Care Nurses Australia, Australasian College of Health Service Management, and Australian Institute of Company Directors.
