Boost for community health services

14 Feb 2018

Health Minister Brad Hazzard MP and Tanya Davies MP Member for Mulgoa visited St Clair Community Health Centre last week to announce funding for HealthOne facilities within the LHD.

The St Clair refurbishment will begin this year and will provide services usually delivered in an outpatient clinic in hospital in the community close to home. This includes a wound clinic capable of providing services to bariatric patients, a higher-risk lower limb service and diabetes services.

General Manager of Primary Care and Community Health, Kylie Burke, says, “HealthOne NSW aims to create a stronger, more efficient health care system by integrating general practice and primary and community health care services. The program aims to reduce avoidable hospital admissions with clients and carers being involved in the decision making about their care."
