Second crane erected at Nepean Hospital Redevelopment site

18 Mar 2020

Work on the $576 million Stage 1 Nepean Hospital Redevelopment is set to ramp up following the installation of a second crane last weekend.

Situated near the current Somerset Cottage site, the new crane was erected over two days and stands at 59 metres in height. Over 70 tonnes of concrete was poured to secure the crane in place.

The twin cranes will allow different teams on the construction site to work at the same time, increasing efficiency and productivity onsite.

Primary school students in the Blue Mountains, Penrith, Hawkesbury and Lithgow areas are invited to enter the Nepean Redevelopment’s “Name the Twin Cranes” competition for the chance to win their school a $1000 hardware gift voucher.

A very high standard of colourful and bright entries from a range of age groups has been received so far. Get in quick, as entries close at the end of March 2020.
