COVID safety, it’s up to us
17 Dec 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic is not over but the way we live with it is changing. Living with COVID-19 means understanding how we can lower the risk of catching and spreading the virus. The choices we make help protect ourselves, our loved ones and the community.
How you can help:
- Remember to protect yourself. Carry a mask with you. Wear it indoors and when you can't physically distance outdoors. It is mandatory to wear a mask on public transport. Wash and sanitise your hands regularly and use sanitiser when out and about. Keep up your protection against COVID-19 by getting a booster vaccine if it’s been more than five months since your second COVID-19 vaccination dose and you’re aged 18 or over.
- Reduce the risk of transmission by choosing outdoor venues or well-ventilated indoor venues when you can. Keep your distance from other people where possible and avoid sharing glasses and plates when getting together for a meal. Continue to check in and out, and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, where required.
- Limit the spread. Be alert for any COVID-19 symptoms – even if you are fully vaccinated. If you have even one mild symptom of COVID-19, get tested immediately and self-isolate until you receive a negative test result.
