30 August 2021

There were no new cases of COVID-19 reported to 8pm Sunday 29 August linked to the Nepean Mental Health Centre and Nepean Hospital outbreaks.

The total number of cases linked to the Nepean Mental Health Centre outbreak remains at 27, including 26 consumers and one staff member.

The total number of cases linked to the Nepean Hospital outbreak remains at 20 cases, including 12 patients and eight staff members.

Altogether, across the two separate outbreaks, the total number of cases is 47.

Nepean Hospital, including the Emergency Department, remains open.

All NSW public hospitals have strict protocols in place to help protect staff, patients and visitors from COVID-19.

The hospital follows strict infection prevention and control measures, including personal protective equipment (PPE), face mask fit-testing, hand hygiene and thorough cleaning of all areas.

To protect patients, visitors to the hospital continue to be limited to only those visiting for exceptional circumstances.

It is also important that anyone who is currently isolating in the community with COVID-19, calls for an ambulance should they experience a deterioration in their condition, including breathlessness and dizziness.
