Crusading for Cancer Care

15 Jul 2022

Staff at the Nepean Cancer Care Centre know that for patients, clinical care is only part of their journey. Compassionate care is key to supporting patients and their families through the difficulties of a cancer journey.

Our staff go above and beyond to help their cancer patients and that’s why, for over a decade the Nepean Cancer Care Centre has taken part in Dry July, with staff and community members from across the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District raising funds to enhance the comfort and care of local cancer patients.

Jacquelyn Partridge, the Division Secretary at the Nepean Cancer Care Centre, is a member of this year’s Dry July staff team, the Nepean Hospital Crusaders. She says she’s taking part in Dry July to help improve the patient experience.

“I’m just happy to contribute in any way I can. I have also recently had a family member diagnosed with cancer, so this cause is very close to my heart,” Jacquelyn says.

So far, fundraising efforts by the Nepean Hospital Crusaders have raised almost $7,000.

“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. It is life-changing. Donating to Dry July provides our Cancer Centre with additional equipment and patient related services,” Jacquelyn says.
