UPDATE 6:45PM | SPRINGWOOD HOSPITAL PATIENTS SAFELY RELOCATED
All our patients from Springwood Hospital are now receiving care at Nepean Hospital. Thank you to our patients and their families for their understanding. And thank you to our staff who have worked hard to complete the transfer today.
Original Post 3:18PM | SPRINGWOOD HOSPITAL PATIENTS RELOCATING
Due to forecast deteriorating bushfire weather conditions in the Blue Mountains, Springwood Hospital will be relocating patients to Nepean Hospital.
16 patients currently admitted to the Hospital will be transported this afternoon to Nepean Hospital.
Springwood Hospital will be closed until the weather conditions improve.
The Hospital does not have an emergency department or outpatient clinics.
The community are asked not to visit Springwood Hospital and minimise their travel in the region as there will be increased emergency vehicle traffic, including ambulances.
Families and carers are being contacted by staff to let them know specific details where patients will be relocated to.
We will be posting updates on our Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Facebook page and website.
