Space Camp wins at NSW Health Awards
26 May 2022
Child and Youth Mental Health clinicians from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District are celebrating after winning the 23rd Annual NSW Health Awards for Excellence in the Provision of Mental Health Services for their project, Space Camp.
This statewide recognition is well deserved and highlights the success of their innovative school based clinical intervention program for children with behavioural, social or emotional challenges.
“Some of those needs might be addressed by our neuroscience, sensory processing, developmental frameworks, emotion coaching, and trauma-informed practices that we know embed all of the practices that need to be addressed in these populations,” says Samantha Whitney, Acting Clinical Lead.
Well done to the Space Camp team led by Samantha Whitney, and Danielle Rayner, Social Worker, Amanda Ashtiani, Occupational Therapist and Catherine Fusca, Psychologist.
