10,000th COVID vaccine delivered at Nepean Hospital Vaccination Clinic

10 Jun 2021

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District marked a significant milestone today having delivered their 10,000th COVID vaccination at the Nepean Hospital vaccination clinic.

NBMLHD Nurse Manager, Kim Maddock says it’s encouraging to see the community unite for a common cause.

“We’ve been open to the public a few weeks now and more and more people are registering and rolling up their sleeves wanting to help put a stop to the spread of this virus,” says Mrs Maddock.

Melanie Brothers, a McGrath Breast Care Nurse at the Nepean Cancer and Wellness Centre, received the 10,000th vaccine and is now fully vaccinated after receiving her second dose.

“It’s a great feeling to be protected,” says Melanie.

NSW Health urges everyone to get vaccinated when they are eligible to do so.

NSW Health continues to vaccinate eligible people in the priority groups set out by the Federal Government and appointments can be booked through the eligibility checker on the Commonwealth Department of Health website:

Everyone who attends any NSW Health COVID-19 vaccination centre is assessed for eligibility in person on the day of the booking by a qualified health professional and undergo a robust process of identification.
