Allied Health Assistant Sarah Gibson is well known for her commitment to improving client outcomes. Her enthusiasm and professionalism has been praised by clients, their families, carers and staff across all allied health disciplines.
Sarah works within Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District’s Primary Care and Community Health Service and later this month, her efforts will be recognised at the NSW Health Excellence in Allied Health Awards, where she is a finalist in the Allied Health Assistant of the Year category.
Sarah says she’s honoured and grateful to have been nominated for the award.
“It’s been pleasing to realise that my role as an Allied Health Assistant is appreciated so strongly, and also that I’m making a difference not only to our clients’ lives but also in support clinicians in their professional role,” she says.
Well known for her attention to detail and excellent client observations, Sarah’s wealth of experience as a multidisciplinary Allied Health Assistant allows her to view clients holistically and provide thorough handovers, contributing to the delivery of high quality care for clients.
“Working within five different allied health teams provides such a variety in the tasks and skills that I’ve learned and developed over the years. What I enjoy most in my role is being able to provide, support and facilitate a multidisciplinary, holistic care approach for our clients out in the community,” Sarah says.
“One of the best things about working with allied health is that my role enables us to glue together many pieces of client care and that really enriches a client’s experience and outcomes.”
Sarah is one of five finalists from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District at the NSW Health Excellence in Allied Health Awards.
