NBMLHD Service Activity this Christmas/New Year period
21 Dec 2021
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) emergency departments at Nepean, Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Hawkesbury Hospitals will be open 24 hours a day, with emergency surgery set to continue over the Christmas/New Year period.
Our emergency departments are open as usual for anyone who is seriously ill or injured or requiring urgent medical attention. People can still receive care and health advice for other medical conditions from their local GP, medical centre, pharmacist or by calling Healthdirect on 1800 022 222.
The District has robust response plans in place and is prepared to respond rapidly to any increase in demand for services that may arise in the situation with COVID-19.
If you are concerned about drug and alcohol use, NBMLHD’s Central Intake Line is available on 1300 661 050 for free, non-judgemental support and advice for individuals and families. Alternatively, the Alcohol and Other Drugs Information Service (ADIS) on 1800 250 015 provides telephone counselling, support and information.
If you or someone you know needs mental health support, the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 offers professional help and advice and is available to everyone in NSW 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
COVID-19 testing will continue to be available to all members of our community. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested immediately and self-isolate until you receive a negative test result.
There are more than 450 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic contact your GP or visit: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/stay-safe/testing/clinics.
NBMLHD encourages everyone who is eligible for a vaccination, including a booster, to book into a NSW Health vaccination clinic or another provider without delay through the COVID-19 vaccine clinic finder:
