Patients’ rest assured thanks to Lions Club

New recliner chairs being rolled out at Nepean Hospital are providing greater levels of comfort for patients awaiting discharge.
The Lions Club of Emu Plains in conjunction with the Australian Lions Foundation, donated $5,472 to purchase three treatment chairs.
Patient Flow Manager, Danielle Xerri thanked the Lions Club and their supporters for the donation.
“The benefits of the new chairs go far beyond a comfortable place for our patients to rest. They also help improve efficiencies at the Hospital,” says Ms Xerri.
“Around 25 patients a day come to the discharge lounge when they are ready to go home or transferred to other healthcare facilities. This frees up more beds in the hospital for new patients being admitted.”
The Lions Club are great supporters and are helping us to deliver services for the community. Most recently they donated two oncology treatment chairs to the Nepean Cancer Care Centre.
