Spotlight on Medical Imaging

04 Nov 2020

Although Medical Imaging often goes undetected, it’s role in diagnosis and treatment cannot be underestimated. Vital to comprehensive patient care, our Medical Imaging staff determine and uncover hidden illness and track the progress of treatment.

Lithgow Hospital’s Chief Radiographer, Michelle Bostock, was recently recognised in the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) #notallheroeswearstethoscopes campaign.

For Michelle, it’s the interaction with patients and other multidisciplinary teams that she finds most rewarding. The high quality diagnostic imaging at Lithgow together with advances in technology and equipment, mean Michelle and her team are able to provide more advanced techniques and quicker diagnoses every day.

As well as her family, Michelle is quick to acknowledge her team, the clinicians she works with and the community of Lithgow as her inspiration noting they are, “exceptionally supportive and fierce advocates for our department and the service we provide… I can’t help but be inspired."
