Referral Criteria

ADHD either diagnosed or strongly suspected, with supporting description of functioning from an observer outside the family, eg teacher or therapist; 2 ADHD ratings / questionnaires, at least one from outside the family.
Primary behavioural intervention (eg parent training) prior to referral is strongly recommended and is an essential prerequisite for pre-school children.

How to Refer 

GP to write a referral to our specialist Dr Alison Poulton.

Referral to contain a detailed medical and developmental history and description of the main problems. Referral must include the documentation specified above.

If applicable, please include speech therapy reports, psychology reports, previous pathology results, hearing assessments and eye test results.

GPs and families can refer to Dr Poulton’s website for more information on ADHD.
