HIV and Related Programs


The overarching goal of HIV and Related Programs is providing a harm minimisation service in NSW is to reduce the impact of blood-borne viruses (Hepatitis C, HIV and Hepatitis B), on the health and wellbeing of individuals, priority population groups and the wider community. Services are guided by the NSW Strategic Plans for Hepatitis C, HIV and the Aboriginal Implementation Plan to deliver a programmatic response to priority populations in NBMLHD.

Priority populations are:

  • People who inject drugs
  • Aboriginal people
  • Young people
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • People with hepatitis C
  • People recently released from prison
