State Wide Infant Screening - Hearing (SWISH)
State Wide Infant Screening – Hearing (SWISH)
The
NSW SWISH Program aims to identify all babies born in NSW with
significant permanent bilateral hearing loss, and for those children to
be able to access appropriate intervention as soon as possible after
birth.
Identification
of significant hearing loss is achieved through universal hearing
screening, this program is offered to all newborns born within NBMLHD.
We aim to screen all babies born in our hospitals prior to discharge.
If screening is not completed before discharge you will be referred to
one of our SWISH clinics.
